This happens to me all the time. The so called "Window Shopping".

Not because I prices of things lost their meaning, but any number higher than zero is a positive number for me, and I can't bring myself to buy something no matter how cheap. (Depends on the product.)

I end up going to a dollar store, and while the items are indeed cheaper, I start calculating in my head that the price per item divided by the number of items, that it costs more, so I go back to the big hardware store.

Then I buy a $5 wrench. You know. For backup purposes.
