If you ask me, I would say they didn't even needed this just yet, let the things go a bit longer this way and do it on second year, that is usually where drops happen, the second year is the hardest for a casino because first year you handle paying everything with your "let's see what this is" type of gamblers, but second year is the year casinos make or break.
A casino would need to adapt with everything this industry has in store for them otherwise they would be left in the corner. There are tons of new casino popping out each month and all of them literally has the same 3rd party slot .
Dont worry about the 2nd year though, its still a long journey for chips because chips is turning 6 months old ! Tons of fun stuff for the 6months old milestone and 1 year celebration so lets leave the 2nd year for when the time comes
