Listen. Sorry you lost money there. But here is the thing, they have had a very long string of very serious problems mounting for nearly a year now (actually, longer). If everyone would have just took off their blinders of "artificially high exchange rate" and bothered to look at the public information, everyone would have known to run away long before this happened. Just the fact that USD withdrawals haven't worked since June of last year should have been a good tip off.

People have been speaking poorly of MtGox for a long time. People have been giving warnings about MtGox for a long time. No one cared and no one wanted to listen. Just because some look at this as magical internet money doesn't absolve anyone of taking it seriously. Research is the reason I stopped using MtGox long ago. Research is the reason I never used CampBX ever. Research is why I haven't lost diddly squat to shady exchanges. I'm not smarter than everyone else. I don't have access to special information no one else did. I just followed the old adage "if it looks to good to be true" and took the time to do what everyone else should have done. If people can't be bothered to research where they are investing their btc and fiat, or choose to turn a blind eye to all the warning signs, then they have chosen to assume the risk involved and aren't so much in a position to complain when the bottom falls out on them.

MtGox is a stain on Bitcoin. Has been for years. Between manipulating the market, artificial exchange rates skewing the true value, thefts in the past, laundering drug money, in trouble with the US government, sued by other bitcoin companies for breach of contract, fiat withdrawals not working, lying to everyone about everything for years..... The Bitcoin community will NOT benefit from a new MtGox rising from the ashes.

It's called denial. Everyone who had anything there is in it. It's just like Pirate 40. Even as he was long gone with everyone's BTC, people still refused to accept it for a while. These people are going to annoyingly grasp at every straw they can. All the more reason Japan needs to liquidate them and throw Mark's ass in jail sooner than later. Last thing I want is to spend the next 6-12 months reading BS from everyone who ignored the warnings and lost their money. They didn't want to listen to us before when we tried to warn them; so we don't want to listen to them cry about loosing everything now.
