Let's assume for a second that Barcelona president is praising Messi on TV every single day and they are having a great relationship, but Barcelona is 5th in the league? That would be horrible for them and they would definitely end up not being happy and lose Messi in the end. This means they have to both be great at winning but also be great at relationship, both of them needs to be together to keep Messi at the team.
