Another way is, buy btc from a p2p exchange so that you can later buy Monero coins. p2p exchange will not reveal on your bank statement that you have bought Bitcoin or any other cryptocurrency, rather it only shows you have sent money to someone.

Would a hardware wallet like the model t be a good non custodial wallet?

Any experience using the p2p exchange bisq? It seems to be pretty complicated. Are there any other p2p exchanges that are good and trusted? Also I heard it is not completely anonamous, but I think that is just shows that you bought something, maybe even monero with bitcoin, but that is as far as it goes, I am not sure.
