The idea of "being your own bank" is great,but only,if there weren't that much centralized crypto exchange platforms.I really want crypto trading to become truly decentralized,so you could trade the coins in your wallet without having to create accounts in centralized platforms and send your coins in their wallets.
I guess that KYC is the price we have to pay,in order to keep the governments neutral towards the crypto industry.If we don't abide by the KYC policies,the authorities will attack the crypto community for sure.

Not all exchanges require KYC. For instance, I only use the ones that require entering name, surname, and email in the form. In the first two, you can basically put anything you want, as the ID verification isn't necessary, and for the email, you can create a separate address (or better several), which you would only use on the exchanges and nowhere else. So, there are ways to reduce centralization and personal data disclosure.
