Obviously. Most people here loves getting merit for the sake of ranking up and getting those $$$$ because Signature spam is the easiest way to make money.

Oh definitely! I mean, it makes me happy to see that someone merited my post because I know that I made an actual contribution to the forum.

Merits doesn't necessarily mean you contributed to the forum. Merit is just a form of internet like here. You can literally get 30 to 40 merits from trolling and licking the shoe of someone. You can see them around local boards and boards that aren't popular.
