Cryptocurrency is surely a danger to the leaders of the economy that has the legal rights to produce an unlimited supply of their currency and not being accountable for doing that.
Tbh federal reserve and banks, mostly banks, They wants you to stick to the fiat which they control because it's in their favor, Once something challenges their control they'll naturally fight back doing whatever they can prevent that from happening, This applies to every control freak.

in essence the government does not like to lose control of the economy. moreover cryptocurrency gives freedom to its users, with its anonymous nature. Of course, the government still opposes the decentralized system, which is different from the decentralized system that can be controlled by the government. With limited supply, of course, many countries will compete to become leaders who can move the market
