I'm more worried about Erundook's and Captainfuture's safety. The US (bought and paid for by Big Finance) is in the middle of a geopolitical wargame with Putin that involves Russian troops in Crimea, and a '96%' approved referendum.

Don't you think it's more likely some former KGB agents showed up and said "give us the server passwords, we're going to fuck with some american money"?

What do you do when that happens? How the hell likely are you going to get Russian police to do something about your assets when corrupt US politicians are freezing russian assets?

If I put my 3-layer tinfoil hat on, this is a well-organized effort by corrupt US politicians working with corrupt Russian oligarchs to manufacture some news, and re-distribute some wealth back to the well-deserved elite, away from this upstart cryptocoin rabble.
