I can relate to you, as for now I chose to invest my excess money for long terms and paused on gambling too much. Also the competition there is tight, other players are just monsters, it's hard to win.

you will always find competitions or contests in any casino, but it is hard to find peace with yourself. those contests will always find aggressive players but it is on you how you will control your gambling habits. because at the end of the day, you are the only one looking after yourself, no one will.
we have seen that duelbits are very active in introducing contests, this is why they can truly attract regular players here. they have good marketing people and know how to sustain these players. they may really survive long in this competitive industry.
