Dr. Anthony Fauci recently stated at a White House press briefing that full protection needs at least three doses of the vaccine. In the US they are witnessing around 150,000-200,000 cases per day (with fully vaccinated individuals comprising a large fraction), and a daily death toll of around 1,500. Even in the UK (which has achieved >70% vaccination) around 200 deaths are being reported every day.
