In regards to the reading part, I'd recommend doing what @acroman08 suggested ^{[landscape view]} and for those that are interested in a better experience for posting stuff, I'd recommend combining the landscape view with a portable Bluetooth keyboard while using the "quick reply" feature!

- Profile > Look and Layout Preferences > Use quick reply on topic display > show, on by default > Change profile
