Also I learnt that linked wallet addresses are also used to detect cheaters, and yet the wallet addresses are visible to users. What happens if someone wants to destroy your account and decides to send some coin to the wallet in order to link it.
I am just trying to think aloud.
Receiving bitcoins from an address does not infer a relationship between two addresses, there could be so many reasons why a person would want to send you funds and isn't a solid proof at all.
One problematic situation I can see is someone registering for a campaign using your details, address or social media profiles, which is many times used as proof of connection, this would be a sticky situation to get out of.
I have not thought that using someone's details to register for campaigns would probably land someone in a mess, but it is real. I pray such evil should not befall an innocent user.

Open your eyes wider. I said that the fact that he got merit from the cheater was a reason to take a deeper look at his account.
Do you understand now, I hope?
It is now you made it understandable. In your former statement, you stated that receiving merit from a famous cheater is an additional reason to his ban.
But from OP, the reason for his ban was stated clearly as "Spam and Plagiarism". Merit recieved from whoever played no role in his ban.
