You are not really mentioning or adressing the issue in this post. The main problem is that you are migrating to the new platform without setting over the accounts. So everybody will lose their referrals that they have gathered and that is unfair if you are not willing to compensate it. There is no famous twitch streamer that actively plays on betnomi (I think), but I am wondering what you would do if that would be the case. Imagine a player like Ayezee that would lose all their affiliates, they would also be mad about it...
That is the whole point! there are not enough affiliates or active players under those affiliates to warrant a complete migration of that data.
Almost all the players have been inactive on the old platform. We heard the complaints, we understand their reasoning, and listened to what they want.
For this reason, we made the decision to build a new platform with a new affiliate program of course, which is very different from the old one.
What we are building is in the best interest of our affiliates and the business overall.
Just so you get an idea, the cost of keeping the old affiliate system online was even greater than the revenue generated by all the affiliates on the platform.
That is how insignificant and inefficient it was. Essentially, no one is using it.
If it was an active platform, we would surely migrate the affiliates regardless of the complexity but there is nothing worth migrating.
There would be a revolt if it was an active system with people earning significant revenue but there isn't because everyone understands the situation and wants something more efficient.
Except Mr. know it all who thinks we want to steal his earnings even after tremendous effort to explain the situation to him privately.
Even big banks retire programs that are not worth keeping around, for christ's sake, ask google about Google Plus.
In our opinion, we are not going to spend over twenty thousand dollars just for one person to maybe make one hundred fifty dollars every two or three months to satisfy their desire.
If that means we get a negative tag, so be it. Its a business, decisions are made to help the business grow, every good business decision is one that must be in the best interest of your customers and partners but we are simply not going to engage in silly and unproductive stuff just because someone has the platform to give a negative tag.
We have various other options available, like offering higher commission rates, exclusive promo codes - the point being we are open to compensate for this in other ways as this is not an ideal outcome.
