I'm hearing a lot of people talk about how BTC will prevent wars and play a significant role in discouraging international violence, but I'm not seeing any evidence of this. What baffles me is the notion that Bitcoin can put a halt to international violence in the short term. What does it take to put an end to wars? Natural resources are held by some countries that another country may seek; how does BTC minimize the desire of Country A to invade Country B in order to get Country B's resources? As a result of its inherent inclination to persecute local "heretics" and enforce the will of its leaders on foreigners, BTC can help theocratic states combat these tendencies.

It's just that I'm not seeing a link here. Do you think BTC might have had a role in preventing the Iraq war? What happened during the Vietnam War? What about the Rwanda genocide?

Nothing in this world is able to prevent human beings from killing each other or aggressing against each other. Bitcoin is also not capable of achieving this goal. However, if we ever switch to the bitcoin standard, which will considerably constrain the ability of the governments to print the infinite amount of money to finance war affairs, the number of destructive wars will be considerably reduced. The governments deprived of the ability to finance themselves through inflation or printing will have to impose more taxes on people. Most people are against war, therefore they will be refusing to finance the war through taxes which will result in the quick end of it.
