I'm hearing a lot of people talk about how BTC will prevent wars and play a significant role in discouraging international violence, but I'm not seeing any evidence of this. What baffles me is the notion that Bitcoin can put a halt to international violence in the short term. What does it take to put an end to wars? Natural resources are held by some countries that another country may seek; how does BTC minimize the desire of Country A to invade Country B in order to get Country B's resources? As a result of its inherent inclination to persecute local "heretics" and enforce the will of its leaders on foreigners, BTC can help theocratic states combat these tendencies.

It's just that I'm not seeing a link here. Do you think BTC might have had a role in preventing the Iraq war? What happened during the Vietnam War? What about the Rwanda genocide?
This is the first time I am hearing someone say that bitcoin is discouraging international war or violence. What else are people going to come up with? And why do people even make up such stories... What baffles me the most is how people people actually believe those "stories". Bitcoin won't stop any wars or violence. It is something that will keep on going on. Something that is inevitable.
I recently watched a video where Iraq is going to or has made its own cryptocurrency that is backed up by gold.

Will they be able to redeem gold with their tokens? Aren't there already some crypto currencies that claim that they are backed by gold? Wonder if anyone actually uses one and tried to redeem their gold.
