I'm hearing a lot of people talk about how BTC will prevent wars and play a significant role in discouraging international violence, but I'm not seeing any evidence of this. What baffles me is the notion that Bitcoin can put a halt to international violence in the short term. What does it take to put an end to wars? Natural resources are held by some countries that another country may seek; how does BTC minimize the desire of Country A to invade Country B in order to get Country B's resources? As a result of its inherent inclination to persecute local "heretics" and enforce the will of its leaders on foreigners, BTC can help theocratic states combat these tendencies.
It's just that I'm not seeing a link here. Do you think BTC might have had a role in preventing the Iraq war? What happened during the Vietnam War? What about the Rwanda genocide?
Maybe Bitcoin will stop global warming, bring back extinct animals, or make the world leaders speak truthfully during their election campaign, this are just mere thought and can't happen, if a war lord decides to purchase his weapons and artillery from a vendor that accept crypto-currency the sent Bitcoin will not refuse to go to it's reciever because it's been used to purchase weapons, Bitcoin infact in that instance made transaction easy for the war lord, which is one of Bitcoin efficiency, finance can only stop a war when the waring parties has limited amount of it.
