PoS is better somewhat but it is more vulnerable and easier to be compromised by scammers. They create PoS coins from thin air and scam investors.
More vulnerable and can be easily compromised, magically invented and the investors can scam others by owning a shit load of coins giving them control over the network, how then is PoS somewhat better, when it has so many bad qualities?
I understand the foundations of both systems, but could someone please explain why POW is vastly superior and POS is doomed to fail?
If you understand the foundation of both systems, you'll get an idea of why PoW is better especially for the long run. If I want to hold a currency long term, I would rather opt for the one which has a pre determined supply model and no one in the network has more influence than me simply based on how much they own.
