It's impossible to conclude whether a coin will become a hit or a miss in future. Because we have 7000 odd cryptocurrencies in the market right now so you can understand the competition.

If a coin survives the competition and invests heavily into marketing, things may work out. But the chance is really high for such new coins to disappear as well.

Well now there are too many cryptocurrencies so we can't reach much more than what the OP asked, of course this is very foreign to me because I've never known or done any research before obviously I don't know what to say.
It all comes down to you whether it's worth it or not doing the most important research.
