They need a young striker who will be able to replace Ronaldo in next 2 or 3 seasons. Haaland can be a striker like this but Manchester United won't be able to convince Haaland to join and wait for 2 or 3 more seasons to become their main striker.

Although he is talented and young enough, he is very ambitious and eagerly to play, score goals and he won't feel happy if he can not play in his favorite position, striker. Ronaldo won't feel happy if he has to play at wing because he is old now or as substitute player on bench.

If Haaland joins Manchester United, we will soon see conflicts between him and Ronaldo. Haaland does not want that and Manchester don't want to see it too.

The best scenario for all is next 2 or 3 years, Haaland will join Old Trafford with a biggest transfer in history.
