Can't really comment professionally on this, neither an economist nor an influencer (heh) but I always did feel that moves like these could have been more transparent and informed (aren't those the ideals Bitcoin was supposed to be built on?).

Transparency exists only when things are going well, when the data is no longer showing anything the person with this job at stake would be able to brag on there will be only silence.
I got really tired about the whole theatre Bukele is putting on, common, there is no real data about anything, in the first months he was coming every week bragging about a number of users, how much money and now he is completely silent, we haven't heard one thing about his volcano mining business, not a word on usage nothing. Just the usual garbage when there is drop with him rushing to lick the tip and that's all.
He is treating the whole bitcoin thing as his own propaganda machine, nothing else.
But would be cool if we saw, months on, El Salvadorains here on the forum, for example, learning and advocating for themselves, or even showing us this free Bitcoin they should be getting from Bukele's government.
And the fact that we don't see even a dozen of them them although they were supposed to be around 2 million of them raises further questions
