At the moment, I generally have big doubts about Koeman's fault - Xavi came and from the point of view of the result, nothing has changed at all, Barcelona played like an average player and continues to play the same way. Also, I think that Xavi's idea of returning to the old style of play is harmful and will not bring any profit even if he can establish this style.
I agree here. Barcelona players are either old enough and far from their best time in career or too young and need more time to mature. Koeman did great job in his first season and it is fact that can be denied. In his second season, all things were chaotic in beginning after a sudden failure to renew a contract with Messi. Any coach will have to face with big challenge when all plans changed in very last days before a new season and the transfer market is almost closed.
Xavi on the other hand, does not have any experience at top-level league like La Liga. He is smart and used to be a great player but coach and team management are different jobs and he needs more time to learn, get experience and improve himself. Young coach like Pep does not occur too often. Genius players like Messi don't appear too often.
I totally agree that Koeman did well in Barcelona. If anything wrong, it is from the former, current presidents and their director board's members.
However, I am quite impressed with Xavi's actions during his time at Barcelona, because he is willing to carry quite a heavy burden. Changing the course of the game that was left by Koeman is not easy. As a football coach, Xavi has a lot of potential as an ideal coach in the future how to make a big enough contribution. It's better for Xavi to stay at Barcelona and I believe that gradually Barcelona's players can truly match what Xavi expects as a new generation of El Barca.
Xavi does his job at acceptable level and results are not too bad. Barcelona can put hope on Xavi but we will need more time to see how it goes. With young coaches, they are bad to face with pressure and bad results. Like Lampard, Ole, they all did good jobs but then when thing got worse, they could not handle it properly.
