Sadio Mane alone can't take Senegal to the second round. And Senegal has been inconsistent in the past. I would still go with Ecuador. They are regularly playing against the best in the world (Brazil, Agrentina.etc), and have performed quite decently in the recent past. My guess is that Ecuador, along with the Netherlands will be able to qualify from Group A. One thing I have learnt from the previous editions of the world cup is not to underestimate any of the CONMEBOL teams. There are simply no weak teams from that confederation.

In as much as Sadio Mane is clearly instrumental for the Senegalese team success in recent times, it is known that him only can't make them succeed at the world cup. Amongst the African teams playing in the world cup, Senegal is the favorite tipped to progress far in the competition. Apart from Mane, they have Koulibaly, Edouard Mendy, Idrissa Gueye and some other players of world class ability. I want to defer that Senegal will get to the knockout round at least.
