Do not provide bad advice on the forums to the general users. People who know what they're doing and can measure the actual voltage pulled through the SATA connector can probably get away with using SATA and know which ones have real 16 or 18 gauge wire. Most cheap SATA adapters use smaller 20 gauge cables or even 20 gauge labelled as 18 with extra thick insulation. These connectors provide too much resistance, burn out and catch fire all the time.

If a card is pulling most of its power from the riser instead of the PCIe plug based on the way it's designed and configured when overclock, the SATA risers will burn up because the SATA port is not rated for anywhere near 75 watts, not even 45 watts.

It's fine you use 1660 super and Ti on risers that are powered with SATA cable, it's fine for a single card per SATA cable I've seen two friends using it for over a year already and no problem or any burnts.
