This is a huge country in which about 300 million Indonesians live. And yet they live on 18,000 islands. It would be possible to organize special zones for the gambling industry on several islands. And make them legal.
Is it true that Islam forbids doing this? Then the ban is understandable, but still a pity.

Islam is the largest religion in this country, and in Islam teaching, gambling is a sin, so probably that is the reason.
