It is not bad to believe on such thing and believing in your lucky day could give you a good positive and good mood during gambling session and for me it is nothing wrong to believe in lucky day or number but if it is too much then that is bad, for example wasting so much money for the day you believe that is your lucky day even though you are losing.

In my perspective, believing in such a thing is not actually worth it because once you start losing money on those lucky numbers/days you start getting demotivated.
And then as you said, some people might get desperate and start throwing their money on those lucky numbers/days.
So if you are eventually losing money then why not try different numbers rather than trying the same number over and over again.

It's mind over matter and I could say that positivity and being optimistic has a huge impact on the whole gameplay. There will be days when we won't be lucky but things shouldn't stop there. We should always feel motivated because our emotions affect our attitude which is important in decision making. We should know how to handle our emotions right.
