The long term is profitable for those who are really patient in holding their assets until they get the targeted profit. For the short term it is usually more used for those who are not too long with their investments, they are more happy with stable money even paper money, people who trade short term I think do not use cold money in trading. I prefer the long term to make a really targeted profit.

Utilizing both trading term can be profitable depending on market conditions, I use short term trading and long term investment but higher share of assets for investment because I prefer investing in Bitcoin, for short term profit just to hype coins and other top altcoins.
