It is true. The real problem is with that person. If he can handle it well, there is a chance that the company will help him until he is completely healed. If he still couldn't take care of himself, he could get the worst out of his company.

If an employee has a gambling addiction and his performance is being hampered by such, then I think the company has every right to protect their employees into such when it hampers only their performance. But if the employee can still produce quality work despite having such addition, I think the company will not address such issue.

The company certainly has rules for its employees so that they don't get out of line with the company. If an employee does something wrong, the company can reprimand him so that they can get back on the right track.

Maybe companies have the right to protect their employees but it also depends on what they are doing. But if the employee has a gambling addiction, the company can find it difficult to help him because it can cost the employee what he has.
