Not necessary. Just install jq on a Linux box and you can easily parse JSON responses on the command-line. (It is not too hard to construct a JSON document from just a string.)

You also could seek tutorial/library on programming language which you already learned, which should only took few minutes. Bitcoin Wiki alone give example on 15 different language[1] and Bitcoin Core help/documentation already provide example using bitcoin-cli and curl[2].
