He is classified as high profile player in real Madrid, so the one year extension will only boost his chances of retireing with more trophies which I'm pretty sure he will still lift trophies next season. He has always given his best and he will continue to give out his best for real Madrid who made him what he is today.

Even though this is the case, rotation is still necessary, apart from regenerating players, it also gives young players an opportunity.
Currently Tchouameni is one of the strong candidates in the middle because it would be a waste if indeed good and expensive young talent is kept on the bench of course.
