Ordinary people have a false sense of security and believe that vaccination can protect them from the disease. A lot of vaccinated people are getting infected and some of them spend days or weeks at the hospital. The death rates are low for normal healthy people, because they already have the antibodies from the vaccine. More than half a million cases per day are being reported now around the world.

The decision to host the World Cups in Russia and Qatar was made 8 years ago, if I remember correctly, and has nothing to do with the current situation in Ukraine or the Covid restrictions.
In fact, there were many complaints and suspicions, and even specific accusations, that there was a lot of corruption and illegal actions in the process of choosing the host for both World Cups.
After all, Former FIFA and UEFA Presidents Blatter and Platini fired for corruption.
But I agree, the World Cup is very expensive and very difficult to organize.
That is why the next World Cup will be organized by 3 countries, Canada, America and Mexico.
