Kohli needs rest. And since he has been out of form for almost 3 years, Kohli should now perform in the domestic leagues. Or hope to return to form by performing against relatively weaker teams. Kohli is a talented and classy batsman no doubt about it. He is out of form probably due to mental problems. So personally I think he needs rest.
That's the honest oponion. Kohli hasn't scored any century for last 2 to 3 years. There is no harm in going back and playing domestic cricket. There are more then 30 teams in Indian domestic setup and kohli can get some good help by playing quality cricket.
