I'm not an addict, but it seems that intention alone is not enough. Looks like someone else has to help to stop. Looks like there should be a psychologist who accompanies. Maybe it's like drug addicts. They will have a hard time stopping on their own. They need rehab. Maybe this applies to people who are addicted to online gambling.

I knew people who were able to get rid of hard drugs and I knew gambling addicts who lost huge sums of money in casinos but were able to give it up completely. So I think anyone who says they can't give up gambling and other addictions on their own is just cheating themselves and those around them. He either doesn't want to and doesn't have the core.

The only way gambling addict gets quiting gambling easily is when the gambling lifestyle is affecting them badly that it can harm, then the gambler addict have no choice to stop gambling just to feel better.
