RX 470, 570, and 580 are still better than this 3050, that's if you are paying too less for electricity or you have zero bills in your home, the smallest graphic card for a mining right now is those gtx 1660 super, I don't want to go lower than this.
Look at the video card 5600 xt. My GPU with Samsung memory draws 78 watts from the wall and produces 39.5 megahash. You can make 42-43 megahash, but then the consumption rises to 90-95 watts, depending on the temperature and consumption of the cooling system. And the price of these video cards is not much different.
I have always try as much as possible to avoid AMD graphic cards because I had a bad luck with them in the past, maybe it was because I bought them used, they just died on me and I lost 1400$, both graphic cards are RX Vega 56, Nvidia just works best for me but haven't tried out the new builds from AMD.
I think that this is not a problem with AMD, but with your inexperience in buying used video cards or you are out of luck. 5600 xt mines great out of the box like nvidia.
