Lol, gambling maybe around since the early years of our ancestors but I do not think that gambling existed at the same time the world is created, whether it is a big bang theory or the one believed by religions. If we may put it in chronological order, the earth existed way beyond the earliest traces of gambling and gambling evidence. Even trading probably existed way earlier than gambling. So we can say that gambling existed after trading is discovered by humanity.

I didn't get it but it is possible for them to buy a land if that is one of their dreams and as long as they win big in gambling.

I think land is under the nose of wealth. In ancient times, even at present, there are people who are too hooked in gambling making bet using their assets such as properties including land and houses. Sometimes they even sell their relatives, wife, and daughter, just to indulge themselves in their favorite gambling activity.
