As far as trust wallet, I don't know anything about it, but I don't like the name. Would you go to a dealership named "honest guys car dealership?" If they have to put it in the name, it probably isn't true. Maybe I'm just being silly, idk, but I don't trust them.
You are right that you shouldn't trust trustwallet.
But that's not due to the name, that's because the wallet is close source and we don't how keys have been generated and whether the keys are stored on their server or not.
Trustwallet is about as secure as metamask though and depends more on your computer's security than hardware would.
Metamask is open-source and much more trustworthy than trustwallet.
