Bot is to fasten a repetitive process or handle a large amount of task. If one opens many bets in such a short period of time, there maybe need for bots to manage the bets. I don't know if it can work with live bets. But I don't personally see the reasons for gambling bots.
As you said, bot is for someone who is into gambling for strictly business and profit.

But it's still not feasible to use bots because if we don't see the bot running and are going to change its settings, we could incur a huge loss. I also don't see any reason to use bots to make it easier for us to play gambling because we should gamble manually so we can stop immediately when we have had enough playing gambling.

One more purpose is not to count. If the strategy looks like some type of martingale, or may be some other but that need to count too - the bot doesn`t mistakes and players can.
I can`t say correctly for what purposes the bots used but i think that there are 2 main ideas: to automate process of gambling and to avoid mistakes.

Yes, automating the gambling process is the main goal of using bots but I'm not sure if using bots is to avoid mistakes because if we don't control the bots that are running, it can cost us a lot. But I don't know, I have no idea how to use the bot for gamblers. It will reduce the fun of playing gambling and maybe the tension will also not be as big if we play gambling manually. Everyone will have reasons for using bots or prefer to play gambling manually.
