It doesnt really matter at this point because he is not going to lower his minimum wage that he wants so its going to be an issue wether or not he is a free agent. He was struggling to move on summer and his agent has been all over Europe looking for a potential club for him which didnt end up well so its going to be pretty much the same for him and his only option left is to go to Al Nassr or lower his wage requirement to stay in top Europe club

Now the conditions are different, last summer Ronaldo status was still legal as a Manchester United player. Clubs that want to bring in Ronaldo must pay off Ronaldo's release fee from Manchester United. Now that his status is a free transfer player, this condition can be used by big European clubs to bring in Ronaldo without having to spend any money.

Of course in the next period Ronaldo had to lower his salary requirements which were relatively high for players of his age. But if he prefers money over his dreams, he could go to the Arab League to become the highest paid player.
