It's safe to say that it will be a niche market at best as the vast majority of people will stick to their tried-and-tested credit cards / PayPal / CashApp / Zelle and won't bother with some random government project even if that's what they want them to use, like your uncle ("what?") and your friends ("what?").

Nothing to worry about here. This strikes me as sort of an Occupy Wall Street - kinda thing.
