The most important problem is that some politicians borrow money and use it for luxury. Instead of investment the money on critical infrastructure that will bring profitable returns, they prefer to embezzle the money and use it for personal use.
Most lending countries or organisation always come up with the terms of the loan which the borrower must abide to. It is very true that these lending countries directly or indirectly influence the economic and political sectors of the debtor nations This why it is better to be free from debt as a nation.
