I was just wondering how these kinds of people had such high merits and some scammers even have trusts on their accounts while people like me who are just doing things within the rules are sometimes having a hard time joining campaigns due to high requirements.

You complained about merits. I understand how sad it feels to see your merit count stock in a particular number for so long. But your personal text said merit is just a number. You should have gotten over it.
Meanwhile, not all legendary accounts go their merits from scratch. Most of them got merit air drop.
