if using known proxy's you will especially see it more often because Ddos'ers use proxy so sites test proxy users more often to ensure they are not bots

Not only DDoS'ers, but also people who perform very aggressive scrapping/API call.

Captcha is part of solutions to avoid DDos attack but it will require using third-party service. It damages your privacy but to avoid DDos attack, it seems there is no alternative solution.

Is it really third-party captcha? Captcha on blockchair looks ancient to me, so it's possible they run their own CAPTCHA service.
