BRICS wants to develop their own currency because they really think that it is time for them to be free from the dominance of the US dollar, in my opinion it has nothing to do with BTC or to manipulate the crypto market, because their main goal is to destroy the dominance of the USD. I agree. This is more on the political side now. And it's heavily being discussed for a long period now. I think OP thought that a new currency will affect BTC somehow but it's just way out of the system as it is more of a political matter.
