I very much agree with this.

The help these gambling addicts must come from themselves first. They have to help themself in order to be treated and to overcome their addiction. Acceptance is the first key in healing. If these gamblers won't be brave enough to admit that they are indeed suffering from addiction and needs help from the professionals and to the people around them, then they will not receive the necessary treatment for their case. But if they do otherwise, they will surpass this challenge from their life.

Gambling addiction is a serious matter that needs proper intervention. One must be willing to be treated and one must be cooperative. Being in denial won't get them anywhere. It will just make the situation much worse. So if you have the chance, give them the pros and cons of gambling, not just the benefits of it for them to be aware of what they might encounter in the long run.

Unfortunately, addiction is something that when you fall is very difficult to do and difficult to overcome, but there is nothing impossible, if a person has enough willpower, it is possible that they can achieve everything they want, already with something like an addiction, if psychologists are needed and when the problem is very advanced, a psychiatrist is necessary so that he can be helped by means of medicines, as far as I am concerned, everything lies in the personality of each person and the desire they have to overcome the addiction, help is there, the only thing left is to have the will.

People fall into addiction because maybe he didn't have support system giving him right advices on what to do or avoid on things he do that can possibly harm him. But if a perso fall into that situation his immediate family should step up and help those guy since its really hard to get out by yourselves if you are already in that condition. And a proper professional help is really needed to avoid such heavy implaction brought up by gambling addiction.
