That's the reason why I would prefer to talk about the rest of the teams involved in La Liga who still have something to win or to lose, rather than keep talking about Real Madrid and/or Barça. Many high tier clubs are about to be relegated, while others have a very narrow difference in points that could change at any moment and could lead to qualify for European competitions next year.
On the other hand, Atlético is at only two points from Real Madrid, but nobody is talking about them.

Atletico Madrid is in a very good position right now. The team is only two points behind Real Madrid. But the important thing is that Atletico Madrid is in good form now. Real Madrid has won three of their last five matches and lost two. On the other hand, Atletico Madrid has won all of their last 5 matches.
Real Madrid's main target now is the Champions League matches. And so Madrid has the possibility of losing points in a few more matches in La Liga. On the other hand, if Atlético Madrid can maintain their consistency, they may be able to occupy second place in the table. And my guess is that Atletico Madrid is in the form they are now, if they can perform consistently, the second place in the table will be Atletico Madrid at the end of the season.
