the defeat to West Ham was really painful because they failed to take advantage of this opportunity to widen the gap with Liverpool who are in 5th place. But for Manchester United they still have 1 game they haven't played, which will be their hope to maximize the opportunities for widen the gap with Liverpool. Two consecutive defeats is quite disappointing, especially at the end of the season because they need a win to stay safe in the top 4.

Newcastle also lost in today match, they lost in front of their own supporters, where Arsenal were able to secure full points at the St james park stadium. even this defeat made newcastle fail to continue the winning trend they got in the last 3 matches. Newcastle and Manchester United are not safe enough in the top 4 because they have a fairly close distance to Liverpool which is ranked 5th.

It is a painful match loss for Manchester United and Newcastle just as it is a joyous match win for West Ham and Arsenal. West Ham's victory over Manchester United has preferably kept them 7 points above the teams in the relegation zone. Since they are 7 points ahead of 5 clubs, namely: Leicester (30), Leeds (30), Nottingham Forest (30), Everton (29), and lastly Southampton (24). ideally, West Ham have secured their stay in the premier league next season, at least there won't be any more worry about them being heading down to the relegation zone by the end of the season.
