Inter Milan team will not be able to win against Manchester City if they play a defensive strategy only. Manchester City is one of the strongest attacking teams in the world. The city's midfield and attack are very strong. And so it will be risky for Inter Milan if they decide to play only a defensive strategy.

Inter will have zero chance if they open up to Man City and their only chance is to defend, hope that City wont have their day and possibly score on counterttack.

Even though City is a big favorute here, everyone should keep in mind that its only one game where everything is possible so I wouldnt write Inter all together.
The coach must have studied how Manchester City holds the ball and then arranges attacks that will then harm them. What I'm thinking right now is, it must be difficult for the coach to determine who he will focus on guarding, because many Manchester City players are the key to the game. Not only on the front lines, the midfield players of Manchester City are so creative and they can score goals. Whatever strategy Inter Milan will implement later, I'm sure the coaching staff has considered it as best they can so they decide to implement that strategy.

Frankly, I want to watch the match between Inter and Manchester City in a final mood. Inter should watch Manchester City well and see their shortcomings. It should be noted that this game is only one game. If they can't score, they should at least not concede. Manchester City has significant offensive power. In this match, Inter's defensive line has a great job.
Yes, it's not like in the quarter-finals and semifinals where the matches were carried out in 2 meetings, away and home. If they lost the first game, they still had a chance to make a comeback in the second, now that scenario didn't exist. You're right that if they can't score, then they have to prevent the opponent from scoring too and take the game to penalties. In the penalty shootout round we can't be sure which club is the strongest, because for me the penalty shootout is a lucky shootout which gives the odds to both clubs being 50/50. There are many examples of favored clubs losing in penalty shootouts.
