It seems that the League has not yet lifted the restrictions on Barcelona and in order to buy someone some players will have to get rid of (even taking into account the players who have already left). Today I read that Javi has some difficult choices (who to keep who to sell/let go), but in any case, he will have to make these choices. An unpleasant story, but Barcelona itself is to blame for driving itself into a pre-bankrupt state.

But is this about specific restrictions on Barcelona or restrictions that apply to every club equally but Barcelona violated the rules or is about to violate some financial thresholds? Are we talking about a penalty so to say?

Otherwise it is still (negatively) remarkable that Barcelona is one of the clubs with the highest salary budgets in the world and they don't even have Messi, Neymar, Suarez and all these guys on their list anymore. They have failed to restructure their internal wage policies such that they have enough flexibility to sign new players. They have all these contracts running with salaries that are too high. When even Real Madrid isn't in trouble, how is Barcelona in trouble?
