Liverpool have reaped a failure this season none other than because they made a blunder by releasing Sadio Mane to Bayern Munich which made the balance of Liverpool front line undirected since the start of the season. We have seen how Liverpool performed at the start of the season where they were easily beaten by other teams. I think that's Liverpool's weakness this season.
Liverpool failure to close the season in the top 4 was indeed very bitterly accepted by fans because several players brought in by Liverpool were unable to make a big contribution, such as Nunez and Gakpo. But for next season I can't say that Liverpool will really rise to win the trophy EPL because their strength is still weak enough to get rid of Manchester City.
Liverpool's performance in the season that just ended was a little disappointing. especially early in the season. they have completely lost the consistency they used to show when Sadio Mane was at the Club. it seems that the loss of Sadio Mane has really taken a toll on the club's performance. Even M. Salah, who always appeared extraordinary in the previous few seasons, turned out to be this season he made more mistakes. or rather no one can understand the movement of M. Salah. And Liverpool have failed to finish in the top 4 this season. So that makes all the fans disappointed with this season. Because in the last 6 seasons or more precisely when Sadio Mane was still at the club, in those 6 seasons Liverpool always managed to get a ticket to the Champions League. but this season Liverpool were only able to end the season in the top 5. and it was completely unlike the usual Liverpool.
And I also feel that Man City will still be the team most likely to win the title again next season.
Liverpool may not have lived up to expectations during the recently finished season especially at the beginning. When Sadio Mane was at the club the team appeared to have lost its consistency. Their performance seemed to have suffered significantly as a result of Mane absence. Even Mohamed Salah who had regularly excelled in prior seasons made more errors this time around which confused supporters with his movements. Liverpool fans have surely been unhappy by the team failure to place in the top four. With Mane on the team for the previous six seasons Liverpool always qualified for the Champions League thus this season fifth place performance was unusual. Looking ahead it appears that Manchester City will continue to be the favourites to win the championship in the next season.
