They were focused on all competitions. Before the world cup break Barcelona were topping the league with just one point difference Madrid was at second position.

Real Madrid were just inconsistent in the league because that is the kind of coach Ancelotti is. He has never won a single league title twice with the same team in his career, and I'm certain he will not win the La Liga again with Madrid.
